Towards Model-Based Diagnosis of Coordination Failures

چکیده
With increasing deployment of multi-agent and distributed systems, there is an increasing need for failure diagnosis systems. While successfully tackling key challenges in multi-agent settings, modelbased diagnosis has left open the diagnosis of coordination failures, where failures often lie in the boundaries between agents, and thus the inputs to the model—with which the diagnoser simulates the system to detect discrepancies—are not known. However, it is possible to diagnose such failures using a model of the coordination between agents. This paper formalizes model-based coordination diagnosis, using two coordination primitives (concurrence and mutual exclusion). We define the consistency-based and abductive diagnosis problems within this formalization, and show that both are NP-Hard by mapping them to other known problems.

The Study of the Emotion Recognition and the Cognitive Failures of Children with Developmental Coordination Disorder
Objectives: Recently, attention has been paid to the Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) in children. DCD occurs silently in child development stages; the child is involved with deficiencies that affect his / her social relationships, academic achievement and emotional perception. In this study, we tried to investigate the state of emotion recognition and the cognitive profiles of the chi...

متن کاملDiagnosis of Coordination Faults: A Matrix-Based Formulation
One of the key requirements in many multi-agent teams is that agents must coordinate on specific aspects of their joint task. Unfortunately, this coordination may fail due to intermittent failures in sensor readings, communication failures, etc. A key challenge in model-based diagnosis of such coordination faults is to represent the model coordination between the agents in a way that allows eff...
متن کاملA credit period contract towards coordination of pharmaceutical supply chain:The case of inventory-level-dependent demand
This paper considers a two stages pharmaceutical supply chain (PSC) consisting of a pharmaceutical manufacturer (pharma-manufacturer) that supplies one type of pharmaceutical product to a pharma-retailer. The customer demand rate for the pharmaceutical product is dependent on the pharma-retailer’s current-inventory level. The pharma-retailer determines the order quantity ( ) value as decision v...
متن کاملDiagnosing Coordination Faults in Multi-Agent Systems
With increasing deployment of multiple agents in complex, dynamic settings, there is an increasing need to respond to failures that occur in the agents coordination. In particular, there is need to detect and diagnose coordination failures—failures to maintain relationships between agents. We refer to this type of diagnosis as social diagnosis. Previous approaches to diagnosis in multi-agent se...
